Bot Requirements
Last updated: October 2025
1. Minimum Server Size
marshallbot is designed to operate optimally in servers with at least 50 members. Exceptions may apply for smaller communities with active moderation or unique use cases. Server size ensures features like moderation, logging, and automated functions work effectively.
2. Server Owner Cooperation
By inviting marshallbot, server owners agree to work with marshalldevelopment if any issues arise. This includes:
- Responding to support requests related to bot performance or errors.
- Providing temporary access to settings if troubleshooting requires it.
- Following guidance to maintain bot functionality and compliance with terms of use.
3. Required Permissions
To operate correctly, marshallbot needs the following permissions in your Discord server:
- Manage Roles (to assign roles automatically)
- Ban/Kick Members (for automated moderation)
- Read & Send Messages, Embed Links, Attach Files (for full feature access)
- Manage Messages (for moderation commands)
- Administrator (optional, recommended for full automation)
4. Recommended Setup
- Create a dedicated bot role with the necessary permissions.
- Ensure the bot role is above other roles it needs to manage.
- Use separate channels for logs and moderation messages to keep the server organized.
5. Compliance and Responsibility
Server owners are responsible for complying with Discord's Terms of Service. marshallbot is a tool; misuse or abuse of features remains the server owner’s responsibility.
6. Updates to Requirements
marshalldevelopment may update these requirements to improve performance or security. Servers must meet updated requirements to continue using marshallbot effectively.
